Chesapeake Bay Program Photo/Graphic Usage Policy
The Chesapeake Bay Program retains the rights to all images used on http://www.chesapeakebay.net. Some materials have been donated or obtained from individuals or organizations and may be subject to additional restrictions on use. Permission to use images from http://www.chesapeakebay.net must be obtained in writing from the Chesapeake Bay Program Communications Office.
Bay Program content must be attributed as "courtesy Chesapeake Bay Program" adjacent to the content or in the production credits.
Interested Bay Program partners, government organizations, nonprofit and educational institutions may use Chesapeake Bay Program imagery, video and audio material for educational or informational purposes, including photo collections, textbooks, public exhibits and Internet web pages by e-mailing CBP Web Content Manager Stephanie Smith with the following information: 1) Name of organization requesting permission; 2) Contact person including mailing address, phone number and e-mail address; 3) Description of content and where it is located; 4) Intended use of content (e.g., web, publication, slide show); and, 5) Duration of use.
Map Usage Policy
Maps produced by the Chesapeake Bay Program are for graphical purposes only unless otherwise explicitly stated. While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the data presented given the current technology, the data are often from multiple sources, gathered in multiple ways at different points in time and at different spatial resolutions. Therefore the Chesapeake Bay Program cannot guarantee that the data represented are 100 percent accurate in their positional accuracy or attribute content. The Chesapeake Bay Program assumes no liability for any damages caused by errors or omissions in the data or for misuse, misrepresentation or misinterpretation of the map.
This system is monitored to ensure proper operation, to verify the functioning of applicable security features, and for comparable purposes. Anyone using this system expressly consents to such monitoring.
